Review: Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Aurora ♡

I recently purchased the Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Aurora by Eye Candy from Superdrug for £6.99 and I absolutely love it! The colour is such a pretty pink colour, but not too bright, which I very much like. It is the perfect everyday shade. After buying and trying this lip gloss for about a month now, I have decided that I will definitely be purchasing more of them. Being only £6.99, I think these lip glosses are very good value for money and very affordable.

The packaging is so cute and Tanya looks so pretty!
The packaging of the actual lip gloss is so sleek and so pretty as well!

I feel that this lip gloss is very easy to apply, due to the applicator being flimsy enough to not scrape the product off whilst putting it on (which I know can happen with a lot of lower end lip glosses!), instead it glides on the lips smoothly and easily. It isn't too flimsy either, so just the right amount of product can be applied to the lips. It isn't at all sticky so it isn't a pain to wear, it's so light and lasts quite a while too.

This is the applicator, it picks up just the right amount of product!

This is just one application!

I usually wear this lip gloss for about 3-4 hours before I find that I have to re-apply it. I don't mind re-applying it at all throughout the day so this is perfect for me. The colour pigmentation is amazing and is thick (but not too thick), allowing it to pick up a lot of colour without being completely opaque. I usually only have to wear one coat to provide a subtle, neutral pink tones to my lips, which I find does the job just fine for everyday wear! But if I am going anywhere specific where I want my lips so be a little more predominant, then I will apply two coats to add just that little bit more of colour. Aurora has a subtle shine to it as there is minuscule pieces of glitter in the lip gloss. Although, these are barely noticeable once applied to the lips.

The colour pigmentation is fantastic!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Lip Glosses by Tanya Burr, they are such good quality at such an affordable price. The pigmentation is great and leaves your lips looking fresh, plump and full of colour! So head to your local Superdrug and check out the whole range! Tanya also has a nail polish collection which are all just as pretty. You can also order online at FeelUnique

Review: Maybelline Volum' Express The Mega Plush Mascara ♡

I purchased the Maybelline Volum' Express The Mega Plush Mascara (what a mouthful!) around about a month ago. This is my first ever Maybelline mascara and I had been wanting to buy it for a couple of weeks as I'd heard good things about it and also the bright packaging (which I love) kept catching my eye, then when i saw it for £5.99 in Boots I decided to finally buy it. The normal retail price is £7.99 and you can buy it from Boots and Superdrug. I love this mascara and I would happily pay £7.99 for this product, I'm also most likely going to re-purchase this when I run out.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Mega Plush Mascara.
Maybelline has said that this mascara is their 'First gel-mousse formula with 40% less hard waxes for massive yet soft lashes'. I 100% agree with this as when I am wearing it, it hardly feels like i'm wearing any mascara, I usually wear 2 or 3 coats of it to make my eyes stand out and my eyelashes very full and voluminous. It claims to make your lashes 'never brittle or flaky' which is true as I mentioned before how lightweight and soft the product is. When first using this mascara, it went slightly clumpy on the first application as so much product is picked up due to the big brush but once a second application is applied there is no clumps at all.

process of no mascara to 3 applications.

The brush on this mascara is a huge flexor brush made up of nylon bristles. I personally prefer this kind to plastic brushes as I feel as if the mascara is applied better with these brushes. (The only exception being the 'Benefit They're Real! mascara' which I do own and love despite it having a plastic brush!).  The flexor brush is a joint down the stem of the wand which only really bends when you push your finger against it or press it agains the tube. There isn't a visible bend in the brush when the mascara is being applied, it just creates a more springy feel when applying the product to your lashes, the flexor brush does allow you to easily apply mascara closer to the roots of the eyelashes and also towards the corners of your eyes.

Showing the bristles and the flexor brush.

The Maybelline Volum' Express The Mega Plush Mascara comes in 2 formulas: 'Washable' and 'Waterproof'. I have the 'Washable' formula which obviously comes off easily when it comes to taking off my makeup in the evening. I've heard that the 'Waterproof' formula stays on the eyes more or less all day with no smudging at all but I can't talk from experience as I have not yet used that product. I usually wear my 'Washable' mascara from roughly 8:00am to 5:00pm everyday and there is no downfull or smudging below my eyes at the end of the day. However, I have had to wear this mascara before from roughly 8:00am to 10:00pm and there is little smudging below my eye, this is without reapplication throughout the day so I think it's a great buy as it lasts all day with one application in the morning.

(mine has been used so i'm sorry for the state of it)

Overall, I definitely recommend the Maybelline Volum' Express The Mega Plush Mascara to anyone as it does what it claims to do and more! It adds length and volume to the eyelashes which is what I personally want in a mascara. This mascara is money well spent and gets a big thumbs up from me!
